 About Our Team
In January of 2000, seven insurance agents, working independently, but all representing the same company, came together with an exciting idea. Instead of being limited to the rates and guidelines of one single company, why not start an agency that represents multiple companies, enabling us to have choices to offer our clients?
Instead of having to say, “We’re sorry, you no longer qualify for this policy or this rate”, we could say, “Your situation has changed and we need to quote your coverage with some other companies.” On July 17, 2000, we opened The Alliance Insurance Group. On that date, our number one goal was to provide the citizens of North and South Carolina with an experienced staff of insurance agents that would assist them in choosing both coverage and a company that would meet their insurance needs, at a price they could afford. We began this journey by writing insurance for customer number one. Today, we provide insurance coverage for thousands of customers across the Carolinas and have four offices to serve you in Forest City, NC, Marion NC, Hendersonville, NC, Swannanoa NC, and West Jefferson, NC. We specialize in all forms of Auto, Home, Property, Motorcycle, Boat, Recreational Vehicle, Business, Commercial, Life and Health Insurance, as well as Bonds. We have agents that are trained and knowledgeable in each type of insurance, so you are assured to have someone ready and willing to help you in your quest to attain the protection and security you and your family deserve. Tragically, one of the founding partners, Frankie Atchley, lost his life in November of 2005 at age 36, in a 4-wheeler accident. Frankie left behind a wife and two daughters. Working with Frankie’s family to help settle his affairs strongly reinforced our understanding of how important it is to have the proper insurance in force. Frankie’s faith was strong, and we are confident he is with the Lord. In December of 2017, we lost another of our Alliance family when Mark Cooper, an agent with Alliance for more than 12 years passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Once again, the reality of the preciousness of life and the importance of being prepared both financially and spiritually were brought to the forefront of our thoughts. Thankfully, like Frankie, Mark had an intimate relationship with Jesus. After 20 plus years together at Alliance, we have seen and experienced many changes, however, our number one priority has not, “The service you expect from people you trust”. Without this concept, our loyal customers and the Lord’s blessing, we would cease to exist. We look forward to a future of serving our clients and meeting the challenges that lie ahead in a most competitive and changing insurance market.
